This has a Word List and also a capitolization "test". The end of all of the First Readers we've gotten so far have some nifty things in the back too. Julia learned how to identify some of the smaller words like "the" and "I" and "am" on books like these. It is great if you have a child too young to really begin to read on their own but learning the alphabet and you want to help them along. The text is minimal and can be read in about 20 seconds by an adult. These are meant for a child to practice reading alone on and therefore really don't work for being read aloud to a child. I ordered this on-line, along with some others that are the same, without knowing these are part of the First Readers Level 1 books. Check out the other titles in this series! These stories offer more than just entertainment, they are everything a child needs to ensure reading success! Young readers will enjoy these simple and attractive stories written with their reading level in mind. Our Little Critter® First Readers series is helping kids develop key reading skills! Featuring 30 titles for children ages 3 to 8, each book contains an original and engaging Little Critter story about a situation that most kids will find familiar – a trip to the zoo, a day at camp, a class outing.
